27-марта-2016 – От 68N-36E идём к посёлку Ловозеро. Местность преображается, растут густые елово-берёзовые леса. Открытых пространств становится меньше. Скорость передвижения резко падает. Встречаем старую снегоходную дорогу. По ней идти значительно легче. Дорога пересекает 68 параллель и уходит более чем на 2 км на юг. Идём по ней. Путь до посёлка составил около 50 км, его мы прошли за 2,5 дня. В Ловозеро вошли ближе к вечеру. Первым делом решили вопросы с гостиницей и баней, а посещение слияния оставили на утро следующего дня.

Село Ловозеро является центром культурной жизни саамов, коренной народности Кольского полуострова. В селе проводятся различные саамские праздники и фестивали. По окончании похода мы рассчитывали попасть на праздник Севера и традиционный День оленевода, но в 2016 его решили провести на неделю раньше.

Утром вышли на юго-западную окраину посёлка, улицу Лесная. По следу снегохода дошли до точки без лыж. Сделали фото, вернулись в гостиницу. После обеда за нами должна подъехать машина, чтобы отвезти группу в Оленегорск к поезду. Заранее договорились с водителем, что перед Оленегорском он доставит нас к точке 68N-33E и немного подождёт нас на трассе.

27-Mar-2016 – We were going from the 68N-36E confluence point to a small town called Lovozero. The landscape was transforming: there were less open spaces, birch-pine forests grow here. Our speed suddenly dropped. Then we came upon an old snowmobile trail, it was much easier to go along it. The trail crosses the 68 th parallel and continues for more than 2km to the south. We were going along the trail. The distance to the small town was 50 km, we made it in 2,5 days. We arrived in Lovozero in the evening. At first we decided to check into a hotel and visit a bathhouse, so we put off visiting the confluence point till the next day morning.

The small town Lovozero is the centre of the cultural life of the Saamis, aboriginal people of the Kola Peninsula. Different Sami feasts and festivals take place in Lovozero. We were hoping to attend the North Feast and the traditional Reindeer Herders' Day, but they had been celebrated one week earlier in 2016.

 The next morning we went out to the south-west edge of Lovozero, in the Lesnaya street. Following the snowmobile traces we got to the confluence point on foot. We made some pictures there and came back to the hotel. After lunch a car picked us up to Olenegorsk: we had to take a train there. Earlier we had made arrangements with the driver that he would get us to the 68N-33E confluence point and would wait for us in the car on a roadside.
