27-Ноября-2010 – Мы давно работаем на территории Ханты-Мансийского автономного округа. Очень хотелось увидеть его столицу – город Ханты-Мансийск. Как только появилась такая возможность, мы отправились туда. Город расположен на высоком берегу Иртыша, на семи холмах, поросших красивым могучим хвойным лесом, нетипичным для здешних мест. Несмотря на активное строительство, власти сохраняют этот памятник природы. Местами лесные массивы непосредственно соприкасаются с жилыми кварталами, создавая неповторимый облик городского пейзажа. В Ханты-Мансийске много памятников, музеев и других достопримечательностей. С 2007 года в столице Югры открыта скульптурная композиция «Мамонты», которую уже можно считать «визитной карточкой». Город развивается как административный, финансовый, культурный центр края. Нет промышленных зон, характерных для других населённых пунктов региона. Ханты-Мансийск – спортивный центр мирового значения. Здесь регулярно проводятся Чемпионаты и этапы Кубка мира по биатлону, международные соревнования по лыжным гонкам. В 2010 году прошла шахматная олимпиада. Построены 2 горнолыжные трассы. Нашими гидами были Марина и Владимир.

В программу осмотра мы включили и точку конфлюенции 61°N 73°E. Она расположена в западной части города на улице Собянина, около дома № 6. В 100 метрах выше по улице находится этнографический музей под открытым небом «Торум Маа» – музей архитектуры, быта, религии коренных народов Севера хантов и манси.

27-Nov-2010 – We had worked in Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region for a long time. We would like to see its capital, the city of Khanty-Mansiysk. As soon as an opportunity offered, we went there. The city is located on the high Irtysh river bank, on seven hills, covered by venerable coniferous forest, which is not typical for local places. Though an active building is going there, the municipal officials preserve this nature monument. Somewhere the forest abuts on a city blocks. It creates unique city view. There are many monuments, museums and other attractions in Khanty-Mansiysk. The «Mammoth» sculpture group was unveiled in 2007 here, in the capital of Yugra. Now it can be regarded as the visiting card of the city. The city is developed as the regional administrative, financial and cultural center. There are not industrial zones as opposed to other regional towns and settlements. Khanty-Mansiysk is a world famous sport center. World Biathlon Championships and World Biathlon Cup Stages, as well as international cross-country skiing competitions are usually held here. World Chess Olympiad took place in the city this year. Two alpine skiing tracks were built nearby. Marina and Vladimir were our guides in this fair city.

The 61°N 69°E confluence point was included to our visit plan. The confluence is located in the west part of the town at the address: 6, Sobyanina street. There is only about 100 m distance along this street to the «Torum Maa», an open-air ethnographic museum of architecture, housekeeping and religion of the indigenous Arctic ethnic groups Khanty and Mansi.
